Andres Ruzo – TEDxSMU 2013

Talks 2 Comments

Andrés grew up between Texas, Nicaragua, and Peru. Besides giving him a bit of a national identity crisis, it helped him see that most of the world’s problems are not confined by borders. In trying to find their solutions, he realized the way we produce and use energy lies at the root of many of our biggest issues. This realization led him to pursue degrees in Geology and Finance at SMU, where he is currently finishing his PhD in Geophysics with a focus on geothermal studies. His search for an economically viable, green energy solution has taken him to five continents, most recently to the Amazonian jungle, where he filmed his first documentary. Andrés is a National Geographic Young Explorer and has earned recognitions from a number of institutions, including the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Greenpeace.
